Great book for high schoolers who don’t like to read, because it really pulls you in with this series can’t wait to read the next one
Lily Dale Believing (Lily Dale)
This was a good story. It also is about a place that really exists in New York where the residents are clairvoyants, mediums and the like. You can actually visit. I chose this book because I enjoy this author so much.
She writes some great suspense stories. If you like Mary Higgins Clark, you will like Wendi Corsi Staub.
I'm a Lily Dale series fan. If you are open-minded about the possibility that some people may have a sixth sense, give this book series a try. Lily Dale is a real place from which the characters and events have been created. Staub's writing keeps you wanting more. I read the whole series and then kept looking for more books by her. She is a quick and easy read. I'm a big fan.
This series is aimed at young-mid-teens, but I'm not so sure that the content of the story is appropriate for them. In this book, 2nd out of the 4 in the series, is much more shocking and violent than the first. The writing is adequate, the characters are slightly more than 2-dimensional; and the plot is interesting.
I not only enjoyed the story, but I loved learning about Lily Dale. An interesting place where Spiritualism has thrived since the 1800's and Mediums help those who have lost a loved one...And Wendy Staub weaves an interesting story about a young girl who discovers her abilities along the way when she moves to Lily Dale. I read the whole series (4 books) and enjoyed all of them.
I usually am just a mystery person, but I liked this book. It was a good change for me, I still prefer my mysteries, but I actually am planning on getting Awakening!!!
That is what a good book does for the reader. this Lily Dale series delivers all the suspense and keeps the reader hooked and you never quite figure it all out! Just the way I like it, too many writers seem to plot out the book as they write it and somehow you feel duped. Wendy Straub knows where this plot is going and the complete series answers all at the very end! Great reading.
